With Drew Brees jumping into the red-hot pickleball space and retired head coach Sean Payton putting his feet up (before picking out homes in Dallas), no one would have blamed the New Orleans Saints for tearing down the Mardi Gras float in 2022.
But, with veteran defensive coordinator Dennis Allen taking over the head coaching reigns and long-time Payton staffer Pete Carmichael calling the offense, it’s business as usual in the Big Easy. That means pushing for a postseason spot.
The Saints’ NFL odds are split on the success of NOLA this season, with a break-even win total and the playoff props projecting a fight to the finish for New Orleans. Can the good times continue to roll in the Crescent City? We find out with our New Orleans Saints 202…

It’s almost Halloween and if you’re looking for last-minute costume ideas, you might want to keep in mind that for an NFL quarterback, there is nothing more terrifying than a 270-pound behemoth trying to take your head off.
I hunt for those kinds of monsters as I dive into the NFL odds and find the best defensive player props to bet on. This week, that’s headlined by one of the scariest defensive players in the league — Philadelphia’s Haason Reddick.
Here are my favorite sack and tackle NFL picks when it comes to the latest Week 8 odds.

Matthew Stafford is back in the Motor City for the first time since being traded as his Lost Angeles Rams lock horns with the Detroit Lions tonight. Stafford was Detroit’s starting quarterback for more than a decade and while he put up impressive numbers for the Lions, they played in a grand total of three playoff games — all losses.
They’ve entered the postseason in style by winning the NFC North and their Super Bowl odds sit at +1,800, significantly shorter than Stafford’s Rams (+5,000). Wild Card odds for this game have the highest total of the weekend at 51.5, signaling that we could see a big day for Stafford.
Let’s break down the best ways to bet on the Matt Stafford odds in our NFL picks for this Wild Card showdown.

It’s another prime-time slot for Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons, but the joy of Monday’s dramatic late win could be short-lived with the Kansas City Chiefs in town tonight.
Though the Chiefs are somewhat fortunate to be entering with a 2-0 record, I still think they’ll come out on top here as Patrick Mahomes is a monster in dome games.
I’m also looking at player prop markets concerning running backs Bijan Robinson and Samaje Perine for my favorite Chiefs vs. Falcons predictions and NFL picks on September 22.
Chiefs vs Falcons SNF predictions
- Chiefs -3 (-115 at bet365)
- Under 46.5 (-110 at bet365)
- Robinson Over 107.5 rushing + receiving yards (-115 at bet365)
- Perine anytime to…
Jan Vertonghen is set to leave Tottenham after his teammates paid emotional tributes following the final game of the season at Crystal Palace.
The Belgium defender has not been offered a new deal and will leave after eight years service during which he made more than 300 appearances and was one of the most reliable centre-backs in the Premier League. The goalkeeper Michel Vorm is also departing with the club set to confirm their exits on Monday.

Frank Lampard has said Everton have no divine right to their Premier League status and must improve in the summer to avoid a repeat of this season’s relegation struggle.
Lampard achieved his immediate task of securing Everton’s survival with Thursday’s dramatic comeback defeat of Crystal Palace. After the raucous celebrations, however, he turned his attention to the rebuilding work required and admitted Everton could not take for granted their 68-year residence in the top flight.

As Johan Cruyff pioneered the use of the sweeper keeper with Stanley Menzo at Ajax, he argued that he didn’t care if his side conceded a couple of goals a season from lobs into an empty net with his goalkeeper caught upfield; far more important were the gains made by being able to play a higher offside line, squeezing the play, in the knowledge that Menzo was there to mop up behind. It made it harder for opponents to attack, and meant that Ajax more regularly won the ball back higher up the pitch in dangerous areas.
The problem, said Cruyff, was that football culture was too obsessed with the obvious and with apportioning blame. A goalkeeper being caught out of his goal looked bad and so drew criticism, whereas the incremental gains, which…
When the green flag drops on NBA free agency on Sunday, the queue of general managers ready to spend will depend on which players actually reach the open market. Changes in the Collective Bargaining Agreement permitted players to re-sign with their current teams and a number of coveted potential free agents are already off the board. Pascal Siakam ($189.5 million) returned to the Indiana Pacers, OG Anunoby ($212.5 million) is back with the Knicks, Immanuel Quickley ($175 million) agreed to stick with the Raptors, Nic Claxton (four years, $100 million) grabbed a bag in Brooklyn and Malik Monk ($78 million) re-upped with the Kings after his runner-up Sixth Man of the Year award finish. Several other would-be free agents in line for significant paydays also signed new contracts during la…
Terry Watson, an ex-NFL agent who represented Cortland Finnegan and a handful of other players, agreed to a plea deal in a North Carolina court this afternoon and was sentenced to a suspended jail sentence of six-to-eight months for providing three NFL-bound UNC players with money in 2010. Because his sentence is suspended, it will kick in if he doesn’t pay a $5,000 fine or complete 30 months probation. Watson agreed to plead guilty to 13 charges of athlete-agent inducement in exchange for prosecutors dropping a felony obstruction of justice charge. The state of North Carolina began to investigate UNC’s athletic program in 2010, shortly after the NCCA started the investigation which led to the school’s ongoing academic fraud scandal. Charges against Watson and four others were an…
