Lazaro completes Inter move

Inter have completed the signing of Valentino Lazaro from Hertha Berlin.

The winger has signed a four-year contract with the Serie A side after completing medical checks in Milan.

Inter have paid a reported fee of €22million to sign the 23-year-old, who had also been linked with Arsenal.

An Austria international since 2014, Lazaro joined Hertha two years ago after five seasons with Red Bull Salzburg.

Manchester United 2 Arsenal 1: Late Fellaini header downs Wenger´s callow Gunners

Marouane Fellaini headed a stoppage-time winner to earn Manchester United a 2-1 home victory in Arsene Wenger s last visit to Old Trafford as Arsenal manager.

Wenger, presented with a gift by old rival Alex Ferguson before kick-off, rested the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette with an eye on Thursday s Europa League semi-final, naming his youngest league XI since 2011 s infamous 8-2 loss at United.

And the Frenchman s young side were on track to do him proud, Henrikh Mkhitaryan levelling on his Old Trafford return after Paul Pogba s early opener for United.

But although United s attack was depleted by an injury that forced Romelu Lukaku off early in the second half, Jose Mourinho s men came up with a late winner.

Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 Angers: Icardi gets up and running in Ligue 1

Mauro Icardi scored his first Ligue 1 goal with Neymar also on target as Paris Saint-Germain earned a routine 4-0 victory over in-form Angers at Parc des Princes. 

Having opened his PSG account with the winner against Galatasaray in the Champions League in midweek, Icardi who squandered a great chance early on doubled his tally for the season with a simple finish 37 minutes into his first Ligue 1 start. 

Icardi s effort put PSG 2-0 up, with Pablo Sarabia s neat strike having given Thomas Tuchel s side a 13th-minute lead. 

Idrissa Gueye joined Icardi and Sarabia in getting off the mark in Ligue 1 midway through the second half, before Neymar capped a fine individual display with his fourth goal of the season late on.

Ibrahimovic to retire from Sweden duty after Euros

Wednesday s game against Belgium may be Zlatan Ibrahimovic s last for Sweden after he announced he will retire from internationals following Euro 2016.

Sweden head into their final Group E fixture in Nice likely needing a win to reach the last 16.

In a pre-match media conference on Tuesday, Ibrahimovic said: The last game at the Euros will be my last game for Sweden. I will not play at the Olympics.

Ibrahimovic came into the tournament aiming to become the first man to score at four European Championships, but has so far struggled to make an impact, drawing blanks against Republic of Ireland and Italy.

Advocaat to retire at end of season

Former Netherlands and South Korea coach Dick Advocaat announced he would retire once he leaves Fenerbahce at the end of the season.

Advocaat, 69, has been in charge of the Turkish club since August last year, having resigned at Sunderland in October 2015.

The Dutchman said on Friday he was retiring, with Fenerbahce sitting fourth in the Turkish Super Lig.

Finally, I will leave here at the end of the season, Advocaat said.

I don t mind announcing my decision early.

A former midfielder and defender, Advocaat was Netherlands coach on two occasions, from 1992-94 and 2002-04.

He was also at the helm of South Korea, Russia and Belgium internationally, while most of his success came at club level.

Aston Villa agree Targett deal

Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Matt Targett from Southampton, according to of the Telegraph.

As the journalist reports, the fee accepted by both clubs is set at £14 million, with the potential of rising to £17 million through add-ons.

The 23-year-old has been a Southampton player since he signed his first professional contract back in 2013. Since then, he has made 61 appearances for the club and scored a single goal, and was named their Young Player of the Year in 2014/15. He spent 2017/18 on loan at Fulham, where he also found a net once, in 21 games.

With Ryan Bertrand holding the left-back spot at St. Mary s firmly in his hands, Targett is set to leave in search of first-team football, and he will be hoping to get ahead of Neil Taylor in the peck…

Pareja departs Sevilla after five seasons

Sevilla have announced Argentinian defender Nico Pareja is leaving the club after five seasons.

Pareja made 120 appearances for Sevilla and was part of the teams that won three successive Europa League titles in 2014, 2015 and 2016, although he did not play a game in the latter tournament.

Injuries over the past few seasons have restricted Pareja s availability and he made just five LaLiga appearances over the course of the previous campaign, for which he was club captain.

The 34-year-old also earned an Argentina recall during last season but was unable to add to the solitary cap he won in 2010.

Toney left out by England for World Cup on ´footballing grounds´, insists FA chief

Football Association chief executive Mark Bullingham says Ivan Toney was not picked for England s World Cup squad on footballing grounds .

Brentford striker Toney was charged with 232 alleged breaches of the FA s betting rules over a near-four-year period on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old has until next Thursday to respond after he previously stated he was cooperating with an investigation into any alleged infringements.

Toney, before the revelation of the ongoing investigation was announced, missed out on Gareth Southgate s 26-man squad for Qatar, though Bullingham insisted the decision was for on-field reasons.

He was absolutely available for selection, Bullingham told the BBC. He was not chosen on footballing grounds.
